As spring ushers in a new season, we can channel that fresh energy into revitalizing our outdoor spaces! La Niña's influence calls for a special touch of care and attention, as all that rain is making for a vibrant growing spell! So, prune trees and bushes to encourage healthy growth and create a more spacious feel. Consider decluttering balconies, porches, and yards, clearing away debris to make space for new sprouts. Get your hands in the earth, and plant native flowers, shrubs, or trees to support local ecosystems and attract pollinators. And for some extra green-thumb motivation, cash in on SDGE’s tree-planting rebate, and receive up to $250 for planting or potting eligible sapling, check out the program here: https://www.sdge.com/trees/community-tree-programs/community-tree-rebate-program

Since we pay sunshine tax anyway, optimize your outdoor opportunities and create cozy nooks with comfortable seating, and fun cushions and throws. Add some decorative lighting, even a fire pit, to extend your outdoor enjoyment into the evening hours. Pass along your gardening tips to neighbors, swap plant cuttings, and share some snippets of your fresh cut herbs. Above all, let the act of spring cleaning be a time of joy, contribution, and betterment, not just chores.
